New Beginnings 12.6.17

Hello lovelies!  Thanks for dropping by.

So, you've somehow stumbled across this brand spanking new blog of mine.  Awesome!  I know there isn't much here yet, but there will be.  I have recently made it a goal of mine to start completing book reviews and sharing them with the world.  There are plenty of book lovers out there like myself who may want some information on a book before they read it or something of that nature.  If not, well, at least I'm keeping myself in the reading and reviewing mindset (really helps out when you're an English major).

I'm not going to be a stickler for any one genre of book.  I tend to float around.  A lot of what I'll post will be just for fun books.  I enjoy all kinds of books and so there is going to be an eclectic collection of reviews here for you to peruse (hahaha, that rhymed).

I have three daughters ranging in ages from 4 to 10 years old and I will likely incorporate children's books and Young Adult novels.  Since I am working my way toward obtaining my teaching degree in English Education, I am going to be reading a lot of books that I will one day use to help my students find that one book that makes it click for them.  You all know it. That one special book that made you suddenly love reading.  Yeah, that's what I'm looking for.  I want to find those stories for my children and for my future students.  Plus, I'll get to read some pretty freaking awesome stories along the way.

I am also going to incorporate some of my reviews I have done for my college class assignments.  You'll get some Edgar Allan Poe and Tennessee Williams in here along will all the other stuff.  I also review some books that deal with practicing psychology to improve your life.  Our brains are so easily manipulated!  What we think can actually change how we think!  It's amazing and because of that, I want to share some of that information with you.  Maybe it'll make you want to pick up a book that I mention and read it for yourself.  I hope it does.

In addition to my love of books, my family likes to joke about me being a coffee addict.  They're not wrong.  Apparently I don't human until I've had the coffee.  I'm fortunate enough to have the most AMAZING coffee shop a few miles from my home.  I know it's blasphemous to all you Starbucks lovers, but I'm serious. Drink. Local. Coffee.  It's the best.  The name of our little coffee shop is Country Java, or CJ's.  Love that place.  In fact, I'm getting chicken and dumplings from there for lunch today.  Best ever!

Okay, enough rambling.  I'm going to get to reading and I should have our very first review ready to post fairly soon.
